We believe in transparency and putting ingredients front and center. We do not use tea extracts, cane sugar, or artificial colors, allowing the flavor of the tea to shine on its own. Most of all, we believe tea should never be in a bag. Tea bags use lower quality ingredients with a fraction of the flavor and health benefits of a loose tea. Flavorful, Functional Tea
How did you come up with the idea for this product?
We traveled the world during our college semester abroad and stumbled upon loose tea for the first time. It was in a tiny Czech teahouse in the center of Prague that got us hooked on tea.
We returned to the US and quickly discovered a problem. If we wanted loose tea, we had to go out of our way to a specialty store, pay an absurd price and confront confusing tea names and origins.
What makes your product special?
They are all loose-leaf teas, bursting with real chunks of fruit, herbs and spices. We have windows on the packaging so you can see the product inside, and ingredients right on the front of the packaging so that you know exactly what you are consuming. Transparency is one of our core values here at Tiesta Tea and our product and packaging reflects that.
What has been the best part of your experience?
We also believe that life is about more than just tea and business. We believe in using our platform to give back directly to people in need in our communities. Billions of people lack access to clean water. To combat that, we set aside a portion of sales from each of our bottled teas to build water wells. We build these wells in communities in Nigeria that grow some of our ingredients. Because we want to support the communities that support us. Millions more do not have a place to sleep at night. Every January, our team and volunteers gather together to pass out hot tea and Warmth Kits to those living on the cold city streets of Chicago. We believe businesses shouldnât just generate profits, they should do good, too.
